  Copes, Noted Footballers (Solace) [1910]
75 cards
Carreras, Footballers [1934]
  Carreras, Footballers [1934]
More faces appear on these 50 cards than any other set I can think off. Charting the history of FA Cup winners from its start till 1930, it is a unique set from this perspective and is mightly popular as a result.
Players, Association Cup Winners [1930]
Players, Association Cup Winners [1930] 50 cards
Caricature is lots of fun and this is one the issues by Players. Not as popular as the RIP set from my sales figures, but that is fine as this one is my favourite of the two and I get to keep a few for myself.
Players, Footballers Caricatures by Mac [1927]
Players, Footballer Caricatures by Mac [1927] 50 cards
This is the RIP version of caricature. Issued a year early perhaps more biting in style and lurid in colour scheme, its popular.
Players, Footballers Caricatures by RIP [1926]
Players, Football Caricatures by RIP [1926]   Players, Football Caricatures by RIP [1926] 50 cards
If you are looking for a series of cards which shows players of the period at their best this is the one.
Wills, Association Footballers [1935]
Wills, Association Footballers [1935] 50 cards
Black and white and posed in some unlikely way. Not as popular as it could be, which is fine as that is reflected in the price.   Churchman, Association Footballers [1938]/[1939]
The leaders of the pack. Naturally some fo the best players to ever lace up a great big heavy football boot to wallop a great big heavy leather ball about. Most modern players would strain a muscle kicking one of the old balls.
Ogdens, Football Club Captains [1936]
Ogdens, Football Club Captains [1936] 50 cards
Good old Ogdens, an entire set devoted to the wonders of Rugby players. Not everyones cup of tea the black and white image but Ogdens were keen on this style of card amongst all the colour.
Ogdens, Famous Rugby Players [1926]
Image   Ogdens, Famous Rugby Players [1926] 50 cards
Artistic rendering of the players of the day and often seem more natural than some of the poses struck in the Churchman series Popular because of the style.
Players, Footballers, 1928 [1928]
  Players, Footballers 1928 [1928] 50 cards
Players Hints on Assocation Football does not show actual players but rather what you should be doing to become one of those players. Hugel popular, something not reflected in the price and getting more tricky to locate as time goes by.
Players, Hints on Association Football [1934]
Players, Hints on Association Football [1934] 50 cards
Ardath had a way with colour this is more like a dream sequence in a 1980's soap opera with higher production values.
Ardath, Famous Footballers [1934]
Ardath, Famous Footballers [1934] 50 cards
Carreras, Famous Footballers.   Carreras, Famous Footballers [1935]
Churchmans came out with this variation of a theme choosing to produce caricatures of rugby players. Because of so few sets dealing exclusively with rugby they are pretty tricky to locate.
Churchmans, Rugby Internationals [1935]
Image   Churchmans, Rugby Internationals [1935] 50 cards
More rugby players and they look like it too.
Wills, Rugby Internationals [1929]
