My Favourite Part (1939)
Gallaher were good friends to the movie cigarette card collectors.
They produced many film star sets in the distinctive format and having, for the most part, 48 cards in the set.
Many of the sets display the distinctive artisitic style which you soon learn to recognise.
Unlike Wills who produced some early movie star cigarette cards Gallaher were late to get into production after an early offering in the middle of the 1920s.
Then clearly there was a shift in thinking at Gallahers and they produced cigarette card set after cigarette card set of movie stars in 1935 and followed them up with some later offerings, but to a much lesser output level.
In 1935 they produced no fewer than 6 movie star cigarette card sets. having produced one set the previous year and then a set the following year.
Then in 1939 they produced a final offering, and one very close to my heart, My Favourite Part was perhaps the single most important set for my collecting habit as it was the search for one particular card in that set that got me hooked.
