Studied as a child for acting and made his debut at 9.
However this was not to work out and did a stint as an architects clerk (his father being an architect) after the child acting work.
However returned to his first love in 1923 and the theatre acting.
He also did a lot of TV work from the 1950s onwards, which I have not included in the listings here as it outside my interests and you have to stop somewhere.
