This is one of the few cigarette card sets dedicated to authors (and about the only one you are likely to see). It is a great set with many of the faces standing the test of time and some which have fallen from the public gaze. It is this passage of time which makes such sets so interesting.
Wills did like giving value for money in the large series. A lot of sets only ran to 25 cards but this one and a few others they issued ran to 40 cards.
