Played for Gloucestershire between 1893 and 1909.
In 1893 he was involved in a unique first-class hat-trick. On three successive deliveries the wicket-keeper, W.H Brian stumped the batsman.
He was a spin bowler of significance and considered one of the best amateurs in the country.
In 1895 against Nottingham he took 16 wickets for 122 runs.
His bowling wilted slightly but was more than made up for by advancing skill with the bat.
By 1900 his work as a solicitor meant he could not devote the time his cricket talent surely deserved.
