One of the best Lancashire had at the crease.
Part of the Tyldesley brotherhood which did so much for cricket.
Perhaps overshadowed by John Thomas Tyldesley his brother but so was just about every batsman alive.
Faced the fearsome Australian bowler, Gregory in the 1921 Test and was knocked out in the second innings at Nottingham.
Despite some impressive batting he never really secured a place in the England squad which, looking at his stats, is unworthy of the fellow.
