Essex cricketer 1889-1907. Considered the fastest bowler in England at the time. Not only fast but good enough to take the wickets of Hayward, Abel and Lohmann for 4 runs. He claimed he managed to bowl a ball which left his hand and without bouncing left the ground. This he claimed was the first time someone had bowled six byes. Other tales he had to tell seem even taller. He considered the 'yorker' something of a lost art and rather enjoyed reviving it.
