Died of enteric fever caught in India.
Was a batsman in a very strong Yorkshire bowling side before the First World War.
However the casualties of World War One meant the Yorkshire side of 1919 was a different proposition and Kilner was required to bowl.
A well liked person some of his efforts may have gone into being liked rather than cricket.
His early death also having a part to play in the myth making process.
