| Played well in minor cricket but struggled to find form in first class matches. Fortunately got a surpise call up to play for Notts against the MCC and finally did his batting justice. Competant fielder and bowler, managed the hat-trick against Lancashire at Trent Bridge in 1887. Best innings 268 not out against Sussex at trent Bridge ten years later in 1897. Also played Football for England and as a Notts County player. |
