| Did not really do himself credit when playing for England but a geat servant of Gloucestershire where he kept wicket from 1891 - 1914 without break. Followed JA Bush which meant Glos. had 2 wicket keepers covering a 40 year period. 1900 / 1905 / 1906 / 1907 / 1909 / 1911 all represented seasons he scored 1000 runs with the bat. Went to Australia only once 1897-98 with the Stoddart second team. Did better work for England in South Africa in 1898-99 and 1905-06. After 1921 turned his hand to the role of Umpire. |
